Who is God?

Who is God? Here are some exclusive attributes and titles of God according to  the prophets’ words. These titles CAN NOT be applied to  anything  created.   1.          God is the ONLY Lord of the heavens and the earth     a.)     Matthew 11:25 “On that occasion Jesus said, ‘ Father, Lord of the heavens and the earth , I praise you because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to simple people’” Jesus refers to God as “Father” and “Lord of the heavens and the earth” God is Lord in the heavens and Lord in the earth.      b.)     Genesis 24:7 “For Yahweh, God of heaven and God of earth …spoke to me and swore to me…”  Prophet Abraham is referring to God as the God of the heaven and the earth.     c.)     Psalms 121:2 “My help comes from the...

Who did Jesus say he was?

Who did Jesus say he was?  Let’s see what Jesus said about himself and what others said about him. 1.          Mark 6:1 & 4-5 “Leaving there Jesus returned to his own country, and his disciples followed him…and Jesus said to them, ‘ A prophet is despised only in his own country, his own relatives and his own family .’ And he could work no miracles there but only healed a few sick people by laying his hands on them.” These verses are Jesus own words.  Here Jesus clearly refers to himself as a prophet. The people in his home town rejected him once they realized that he was the local carpenter’s son. 2.         Luke 13:33  “ Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and for a little longer, for it would not be fit for a prophet to be killed outside Jerusalem” Now this is Jesus talking about himself.  He is responding to the Pharisees who c...

Is Jesus the same in Stature as God?

What did Jesus say about God in reference to  himself? I will only use the 4 canonical gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) of the New Testament and the Old Testament as most of the other books in the New Testament were written by Paul. It is believed that Paul authored the following books: Romans, I and II Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, I and II Thessalonians, I and II Timothy, Titus and Philemon. Although open to question many also have good reason to believe he also wrote Hebrews as it contains many Pauline distinctions. The reason why I choose not to use the books authored by Paul is that they don’t contain Jesus actual spoken words.  They contain an opinion of what Jesus meant. Since Paul was not an actual eye witness of Jesus and never was with Jesus during his mission – I will refer to his ‘contribution’ in the latter part of this book. Now let’s see what Jesus said about God and his relationship with God....
